FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL
Weekends are especially busy for most restaurants, so in order to make it easy for more of them to be part of TOA (and for you to have the greatest variety of food to choose from) we’re holding the festival on a weeknight.
Don’t forget your umbrella. Taste of Alpharetta 2023 will take place on Thursday, May 11, rain or shine, which means that even if the weather’s wet, we’ll still be there serving up some of the South’s most impressive food and fun.
Of course. We’ll have several seating areas within the festival grounds. You’re also welcome to BYOC ( bring your own chair) to use on the lawn of the Town Green or the areas near the live performance stages.
We love dogs and cats as much as the next guy or gal. But for the safety and comfort of all of our guests – and to keep our food areas as sanitary as possible – please leave your fur babies at home.
Instead of using cash or credit cards, Taste of Alpharetta uses Tastebucks, which guests can exchange for food samples and activities.
Restaurants and Fun Zone vendors will collect your Tastebucks by scanning a pre-loaded QR code that will be sent to your phone after you purchase Tastebucks online.
(For more information about how to do this, see our Ticketing questions below. Or go to our Ticketing page.)
Each of TOA’s food samples or activities will cost between one to ten Tastebucks, depending on what’s being offered. And every restaurant or activity sets its own Tastebucks prices. So it really all depends on what kinds of foods and activities you want to try – and how many.
It will be possible to purchase additional Tastebucks if you run out of them on the day of the event, and all Tastebucks are non-refundable, so keep that in mind.
Leave your adult beverages at home. The City of Alpharetta’s alcohol ordinance limits open container wines & beers to purchases made from downtown restaurants – or from festivals that get special permits, like TOA.Beer and wine will be available for purchase in our Beer Garden.
No. You’ll need cash or a credit card to purchase adult beverages at TOA.
Ticketing
This year all TOA ticket sales will take place online. To purchase your tickets (aka Tastebucks):
- Visit our taste of alpharettaga.app or download the app on Apple Store/ Google Play stores.
- Enter your email address on the login page. Then check your email for the login link we just sent to you to confirm your registration.
- Select the ticket package or number of individual you want and pay via Apple Pay or credit card
We’ll send you a scannable QR code that’s fully loaded with everything you’ve purchased, so all you’ll need to bring on the day of the festival is your phone and an appetite.
Ticket sales have already gone live, so feel free to make your purchase anytime. You can also buy tickets on the day of the event.
Tastebucks cost $1 apiece if you buy them individually. However several money-saving Early Bird discounts and bundles are available, so purchase your tickets soon in order to take advantage of the best deals.
All participating restaurants or vendors will charge anywhere from 1 to 10 tickets per sample, depending on what they’re offering. And it’s up to each restaurant or vendor to set its own price.
You’ll need Tastebucks to purchase food and beverages from any of our participating food tents . This year, Tastebucks will also be required in the Fun Zone, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing your kids.
Tastebucks will not be used in the Beer Garden, where all adult beverages will be sold.
All Taste Of Alpharetta musical performances and admission to the Learning Zone will be free.
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
Nothing. TOA’s parking and our festival shuttle service are both free. And so is admission to Taste of Alpharetta.
If you’d like to park and walk, feel free to use any of the following complimentary options:
- City Hall Parking Deck (2 Park Plaza)
- Milton Ave Parking Deck (92 Milton Ave)
- Wills Park at Wacky World (on Old Milton Parkway to the right of
Alpharetta City Pool)
- Wills Park Equestrian Center (11915 Wills Road)
- 11675 Rainwater Drive
If you’d like to park and ride our free festival shuttle, your best bet will be to access the complimentary parking at:
- 2550 Northwinds Parkway
- City Hall Parking Deck (2 Park Plaza)
Finally, if you require handicap-accessible spaces, we recommend you park at either the City Hall Parking Deck (2 Park Plaza) or the Milton Avenue Parking Deck (92 Milton Avenue). Both will have additional, clearly marked spaces for you.
Please note that overnight parking isn’t allowed at any of these locations, and none of them offers public restroom access. In addition, we ask that you please NOT park in neighboring businesses’ private parking lots (such as those operated by Crème de la Crème and Ruth’s Chris Steak House). These private parking lots are not part of TOA’s free parking.
Like TOA parking, our shuttle service is free. It will begin at 5 p.m. and run through 10 p.m.
The shuttle will make pick-ups every 20 to 25 minutes along a route that runs between the Alpharetta City Hall (2 Park Plaza) and 2550 Northwinds Parkway. Please make a note of both addresses, because the route is not the same as last year’s event.
Yes. The shuttle route will have a handicap accessible bus that will rotate between pick-up and drop-off.
All Uber and Lyft transits should be routed to 2 Park Plaza (Alpharetta City Hall) entering from Park Plaza. There will be signs directing drivers to the specific drop-off/pick-up at the roundabout.
